my vision is to create a ‘movement empowered community’ in which I assist people to feel empowered in their bodies through movement training.
my story - my passion
Before embracing Pilates and Creative Movement Training, I had an extensive international career as a professional dancer, and became an award-winning Choreographer. As an elite dancer I experienced injuries and surgery that required fast and efficient rehabilitation to get me back on my feet in time for the next tour. Pilates enabled the rehabilitation of my injuries while maintaining and strengthening the whole body. I credit Pilates (and determination!) for my long and international career.
At 25 I experienced an injury that required me to learn to walk again, surgeons suggesting I would end up in a wheel chair. Pilates enabled me to rehabilitate, retrain my physical and mental patterns and go on to dance successfully for another 10 years!!
Re-training my body and mind to walk and then dance again after surgeries was an amazing journey. I am passionate about the ability the brain and body has to adapt and learn. Through Pilates, Movement Training and Dance, my Studio provides me with the opportunity to witness change in people daily - personal changes and achievements that inspire!
This is what drives my passion to teach!
